This video in the series of ‘1 Mic 1 Take’ is amazing. It combines beautifully three different voices of the partly current and partly former Celtic Woman formation. Susan McFadden is a former team member. Máiréad Carlin, Éabha McMahon and the violinist Tara McNeill are forming together with newest member Megan Walsh the current Celtic Woman group.
This song is a cover of the original ‘My Heart Will Go On’ sung by Celine Dion for the film Titanic in 1997. And I find this performance beautiful because it has by combining three voices and a violin its own character.

This song, from our new Voices of Angels album, is fast becoming a fan favourite on our current tour and is such a pleasure to perform. Enjoy this unique version that we recorded earlier this year at the renowned Capitol Studios. Celtic Woman Website
Today I finished a piece of study and I decided afterwards to go to some tryouts of an orchestra to maybe play part in it as an alto or soprano saxophonist. Who knows…take chances when you cross them. Very much looking forward to it!
The last couple of weeks I listen so often to music from Hans Zimmer. I can enjoy it, concentrate on stuff when I have to, relax with it, and now and then even play the ‘Hans Zimmer – Live in Prague’ record on Netflix. It is so full of energy and lovely medleys of the best filmmusic.
Since around 2016 Hans Zimmer has a video series of a Masterclass named ‘Teaching Film Scoring’, if you really are into film music and composing and just learning as an artist from it… try it! An all access pass is only €200/year and I say this freely because I love ABBA music as well and Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus are such great composers! Hans Zimmer is not one of the band but definitely the same level, the best composers of the world! Hans Zimmer is a music composer master!
Today I share with you a YouTube video of a beautiful piano cover. The song ‘Perfect’, originally sung by Ed Sheeran but in this cover is only one instrument: the grande piano. This is performed by John Schmidt, an incredible piano player. A video and especially music says and lets you feel more than a thousand words can describe.
A personal touch: This song lets me release any stress, it gives me a peaceful happy mind. That is why I choose to share this favorite song – by Ed Sheeran – and cover – by The Piano Guys – with you.
A lovely quote of The Piano Guys:
“The Piano Guys write, perform, and record music to make a positive impact in the lives of people all over the world through music videos.”

What do you get when you mix Ed Sheeran’s beautiful love song “Perfect” with the cinematography of “La La Land?” You get a Piano Guys video and cover!
“Perfect” is one of our absolute favorite Ed Sheeran songs, and we think it’ll become one of yours too! As Jon says “The 6/8 meter lent itself very well to a solo piano version and the inspiration was abundant.”
The music video of the song ‘Une belle histoire’ covered by Gerard Alderliefste. Last week I stumbled upon this song on the radio and I kept thinking about it the rest of the day. Though I am not fluent in French, the sound of this song and the lyrics are beautiful! The original song is written by Pierre Delanoe and performed by Michel Fugain. This video is shot by Mathijs de Lange of Delano video productions and the performer is Gerard Alderliefste. And the location: the beach at Noordwijk, here in The Netherlands. The caption of the video also says ‘ Spring at Noordwijk, Netherlands’.
So for a spring breeze…

Everyone who has seen the filmtrilogy ‘The Hobbit’ and particularly the sequel ‘The Desolation of Smaug’, has heard this song. It is sung by Ed Sheeran. Today I stumbled upon a nice fan video made for the song, but first the original music video. So this blog post contains two lovely video’s to listen to and to watch.
Enjoy watching and listening to the video’s!

During my holiday last week in Edinburgh, Scotland, I discovered a poster about ‘The Choir of Man’. They perform several nights in the theatre during the ‘Edinburgh Fringe Festival‘. They have covered the song “Some Nights” which is originally sung by ‘Fun‘ and is already a couple of years old.
But this video is a nice cover. You hear the different voices, the pitch and this is all really good combined together. As well as their accent which is quite different from the original but therefore it gives it their personal touch. A song sung in their own style. If you are in Edinburgh, I recommend to go watch their performance and listen to their beautiful voices, combined together as a real men’s choir.
Music I stumbled upon while I am writing my blog post about my day today in Edinburgh and I like to share this with you meanwhile. Joy Dunlop sings the Gaelic song ‘Ma phòsas mi, cha ghabh mi tè mhòr – Horo Gheallaidh, BBC Alba’. Can you guess what it means?

What it exactly means…is for me a riddle. Time for a good night sleep and tomorrow being on the road of exploring the beauty of Edinburgh and somewhere inbetween finishing my blog post recap of today and starting with the blog post of tomorrow earlier because the more I explore the more I want to write, even in the summary of a recap blog post.
Enjoy the music!

This evening the recap of how my life has been in June! Yesterday I have written about the my life in the month of May – May 2017 | Life of an IT student. June – until half of July – has been quite a stressful month. The last exams of the year, the last weeks of the project of the year, in short: the last chances of whatever-needs-to-be-finished of the year. But nonetheless I enjoy the little things I can enjoy and feel greatfull for the time I get to enjoy those little things.
This month I have worked at several events and visited just as a visitor as well.
Those four big events and also my little afternoon walks through the zoo gave me the moments of joy and rest to keep going on strong during the last weeks of study for the year. I have been studying nearly without a couple of days off since half of August 2016. My mind was focused on achieving my Propedeuse in Software Engineering, fixing a nice internship where I will work hard but will enjoy every day as well. And yes! Looking forward to it to start after my holiday.
Ok one last time a photo of a adorable moment with the animals in the zoo: A group of Asian elephants playing with their fresh leaf-full branches. I also captured a little elephant playing in the water, trying to play it’s trumpet haha and splashing around.
